Chë

My name is Brontë Che and I'm the creator and designer of Chë, The Label. Chë is used as a friendly greeting in Chile to say hi to those you care about. I thought this was a lovely name for my sustainable, small-batch, up-cycled brand.

I started Chë in 2021, from my bedroom with a few scraps of fabric and my mum's old sewing machine. I started posting my pieces on Instagram and to my initial surprise, people started buying them. Sewing for Chë has taught me a lot about how time consuming this craft is and just how underpaid workers of fast-fashion companies are. It has given me perspective on the amount of waste created by the fashion industry which only further motivates me to ensure I am only using repurposed and recycled materials
