I saw a picture of this tin-glazed plate found in a sewer and now housed in the Museum of London and was brought to tears.

I loved thinking of someone in 1661--a difficult time not long after the plague--creating this art for their love one: presenting them with a reflection on our inescapable connection to earth--the place we came from and will all return to. 

Screenprinted in Vancouver on deadstock 100% cotton white baby tees.
